Polfyntjies started out as a well-known gift shop in one of the older sandstone houses in the middle of Postmasburg. This was the town’s only gift shop catering from the smallest decorative stationary to the more expensive silver ware. As the economy started a downward spiral and expensive gifts became more of a luxury than a necessity the shop had to close its doors. The owners, Gert and Aniena Agenbag, decided to keep the name alive by starting overnight rooms for the weary travellers.
